As of August 9th, we do not have any positive cases among our residents. We have three staff members who have tested positive for COVID-19. Our staff members will follow CDC guidelines to recover and return to work safely. Our medical director and clinical team will continue to monitor residents and staff members daily.

With the guidance released on 11/12/2021 by CMS (The Center for Medicare Services), in-person visitation will remain OPEN regardless of a COVID outbreak for residents in a nursing home setting. As a reminder, there are options for scheduling virtual visits for our residents if you live near or are out of town please call 515.270.6838 or use the link to schedule your time virtually: www.urbandalehealthcare.com.

At Urbandale Healthcare Center, we want to assure you that we are adhering to rigorous infection control practices throughout our facility. We are conducting tests every 3-7 days, a weekly facility-wide testing per the Iowa Dept. of Health guidance and CMS. Regular testing is an effective method of slowing the virus’s spread, so we look forward to continuing this practice until the virus is no longer prevalent. We continue to stay in touch with the County Health Department to ensure we are following the most up-to-date policies and procedures to defend against the spread of the virus. We are also collaborating with our medical director daily.

As a reminder, the following defensive measures are in place at our facility:
